Aussiegamers.info

I have launched a new site dedicated to the Australian gaming scene, at the moment it’s just a bunch of us chilling on the forums, but I hope to expand it to have pro gaming news, and other news related to Aussie gaming. Also, Twitter is driving me crazy not allowing me to verify my mobile phone, I have 32 free texts and 70 bucks credit I need to use up in a few days, what better way to do that then with Twitter?.  Anyways, I’m sure I’ll get that figured out eventually.

CoD:MW2, what we know

While we don’t know very much about MW2, we do know that it is currently playable, I have no idea how playable, could be one map, could be a blank map for testing the animations.
Some interesting tweets from Fourzerotwo

“It’s Friday – which means it’s time to load up the latest build of #MW2 and put it through it’s paces during Friday Night Fights. #TGIF”

Brainstorming on the feature set for our new community site for #MW2. It’ll definitely be an orgy of information and web 2.0 functionality.”

Playing some #MW2 with @danecook http://twitpic.com/1kr1q

He included a picture for that tweet.

Follow fourzerotwo.

CoD:MW2, what do you want in it?

LogoKudos to Infinity Ward for doing this, probably the first gaming studio to ask for ideas via Twitter, I think it’s a really good idea, I just hope they actually listen!. To submit your ideas you need a Twitter account, once you register, follow me, and then simply post a tweet and include #MW2 somewhere in the tweet, for example “#MW2 Drivable helicopters” and it will show up on http://twitter.infinityward.com/

Bill Gates vs Steve Jobs in Street FighterIV

I just discovered the coolest thing ever, youarestreetfighter.com, you take a picture of yourself, or someone else, and the site does the rest, which is put your face, onto a street fighter character, watch as Bill Gates kicks Steve Jobs ass, it’s only because Steve isn’t feeling too well at the moment.

Quake live beta

I just got an email with my Quake live beta key!, thanks to http://www.destructoid.com/blogs/IroN1c/just-take-them-20-quake-live-beta-invites-still-7-available–120873.phtml. I’ve just completed the skill testing part, will post more as I play.

Quake live beta

Quake live beta

EDIT:After playing it over the past two days, I’ve remembered how fast paced Quake was, over the years I’d forgotten that the game was incredibly fast, and the average time to be alive was about a minute (For me anyway), I’ve had a load of fun playing the game, lots of great memories, pwning my brother on Quake 3 over LAN, ahhh. I think ID is doing a great thing, re-introducing an old game, that pretty much anyone can play, you don’t need a beefy PC to run it, I’m guessing integrated graphics will work fine with this game. The fact that it runs within the browser is just incredible, I mean to think that I used to play this game on my laptop, and I’m now playing it in a browser is just mind blowing, just like me and my friends in primary school used to say “Man I can’t wait until you can emulate XBOX360 games on the PC!”(Yes I was that geeky back then). I haven’t seen any bugs or glitches as of yet, and so far I see absolutely no reason why it shouldn’t be an open beta, or even released as GOLD. I don’t think it’s fair to critique the game after only 2 days of playing it, roughly 5 hours. I am going to have to deal with the fast paced game play (I’m starting to realize how much I like strategy) back to the game!.

We're back!

Fires in Melbourne

Fires in Melbourne

However not in black. The blog is back and ready for action, now I need some news to post!. In Melbourne news, we are experiencing some incredibly hot weather, 47C, I mean that’s only 3C away from being 50C!.
Quote from Wikipedia

Melbourne’s hottest day on record on February 7th, when the temperature reached 46.4 °C (115.5 °F) in the CBD

The fires are out of control, the strong winds are making it 10 times worse. I’m pretty sure it reached 47 today, the day isn’t over yet.
