More MW2 News

Jock and a few others recorded their views on the new information revealed in Gameinformer magazine, Jock posted all the magazine pages here. I think, based on the pictures, the single player campaign in MW2 will be amazing, if everything in the magazine is true, most of those things have never been done before, some of the things sound really fun, climbing ice walls, driving ski doo’s, I don’t know how many of you saw the Southpark episode where Cartman freezes himself because he can’t wait to get the Wii, but I’m seriously thinking of doing that.

Grand Theft Auto:4 Xbox 360 review

Niko Belic, and Patrick Mcreary fighting off a gang.

Niko Belic, and Patrick Mcreary fighting off a gang.

The GTA series has always had a place in my heart, I had GTA3 on the Xbox, loved it, I had so much fun getting into a car, mowing down pedestrians, then out running the feds, then in Vice City, running around as Tommy Verceti in a place that looked like Miami. Then in 2004, San Andreas was released, when I heard a new GTA game was going to be released I was so excited, I started playing GTA3 and Vice City again. Once I got the game I played it for hours, stayed up until 3am finishing missions, it was like, the perfect game, awesome graphics (Back then it was :P ), great story, and the sandbox feel, that is GTA. I played San Andreas up until about last month, just before I got my 360, I finished the game 3 times, and have spent at least 600 hours driving around killing everyone in sight, infact I love the GTA series so much, that when I got my 360, the first game I got was GTA4, I had Kung Fu Panda, and Lego Indy, but for at least 3 weeks I didn’t even acknowlede their existence. It was like the perfect game!, all over again. The graphics look amazing on my LG HD 42′ LCD display. First thing I did was the missions, the story line in this game is the best in the series, period. I feel so immersed while playing it that if someone next door was screaming for help, I probably wouldn’t here them (That’s why I have to take breaks, to check for screaming). In the mission where *SPOILER*Roman gets taken, and you have to rescue him, I felt angry at the people who took him, I felt joy in killing every last one of them, call me insane, but it was an incredible experience, the mission where you rob the bank was incredible, I had to repeat it a few times but I got it in the end :P . I can’t find anything negative to say about this game, the only thing that (I’m glad) wasn’t included, was the “feature” to get haircuts and tattoes, I admit the clothes range isnt as wide as it was in San Andreas, but with the story as good as it is, and the graphics as good as they are, who the hell needs clothes?, I mean seriosuly, I play the game naked sometimes.

CoD5 Pc Beta Review

CoD5:WaW is a great game, once you install 10 million drivers and slap your computer for 5 minutes. The installation was terrible, it was missing a .dll. Once you figure out you need to download the .dll separately, there goes precious hours of gaming!. So you’ve done that, you’ve got the .dll and put it where it’s meant to be, awesome!, now I can play right?. WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, get ready for error after error after error, and the only fix they give on the site is to install a bunch of drivers and crap, I did that, I re downloaded and installed my vid card drivers rebooting EVERY time I installed something new, then I was playing!, wow this is fun, crash. Treyarch really fucked up this beta… After a while of getting angry, calming down, and reading the callofduty.com boards, I gave up, went to watch Austin Powers (Shout out to my mum for recording it :P), then I came back and said “Fuck this, I spent 4 hours downloading this game (Had major probs, firefox crashed a bunch of times, but I eventually got it) so I’m gonna play it!”, so I played it, it was great. But it still crashed, sometimes with errors, sometimes it just beeped, like CoD5 was telling me to fuck myself, BEEP BEEP BEEP, CRASH. So I did this for half a day, just kept playing till it crashed, then I quit for a while, went to pee, came back and started playing. I’ve been playing for about 3 hours straight with NO PROBLEMS, so my question to Treyarch is, WHAT THE FUCK?, I didn’t install anything, I didn’t change any settings, I did however pee, maybe thats what fixes this game, maybe I should pee on the game. Ok so now I’ve let off some steam (Lol steam, tf2… random!) I can get into the review (Thats right bitches, I haven’t even started).

Gameplay
I really enjoyed the gameplay, it wasn’t as fast as CoD4 but also wasn’t as slow as CoD2, I think Treyarch really nailed it. I loved playing CTF and DOMINATION, as those were the most tactical and slow gametypes I played. The guns are piss weak compared to CoD4 guns, takes around 2 shots to kill someone with a bolt action, and even with an SMG it takes a fair while, I found myself losing fights, even when the enemies back was turned, and I obviously had the advantage, nope, maybe I just suck (Most likely true) or maybe the guns are just way too weak. Another bad thing about the gameplay is the spawns, it really makes me think, did Treyarch give free weed to all the employees working on the beta, or maybe they just wanted it to suck really bad, you know, just for the fuck of it. I don’t know which of the two, but the spawns are incredibly FUCKED, I spawned RIGHT IN FRONT OF A TANK about 3 times, and on all of those times, the tank driver just keep driving, and guess what happened, I was fucking squished like dog shit on my shoe, oh yeah that reminds me, dogs of war, where the fuck did they get that idea? I kinda like ‘em tho.
Gameplay-7/10:Needs improvement, BADLY.

The Guns
I almost ejaculated when I picked up my beloved Springfield rifle, so many memories of trying to shoot someone, but missing… The guns are great, we can finally customize our favorite WW2 weps from CoD1,2!, and some new guns that I’ve never heard of. The BAR was a huge disappointment to me, it felt way too slow, and underpowered, in CoD1, the BAR was my favorite SND weapon, it was a perfect balance of power and speed, but in WaW it shoots like a Bren, not to mention the sound, the sound of this weapon is terrible you don’t get the feeling you’re shooting a gun, there’s no feeling of power, it sounds like an air gun. But besides the BAR being shit, I was pretty happy with the MP40, I’ve yet to unlock the 44, kar98k and my other favorite weapons from WW2.
The Guns-6/10:For the most part, the guns feel so weak, the sounds really ruin it, and the guns actually are really weak.

The Maps
I think Treyarch made a good choice (Holy shit they did something right!) in choosing the maps to put in the beta, Makin, is a kind of island map, it has lots of little huts and lots of places to hide, or camp. Castle is a fun map, because it has areas where smg fights take place, and great sniping spots. I played this map mostly in Domination and CTF (Once I peed and the map didn’t crash). Roundhouse is great fun because of the tanks, and also the wide area, perfect for sniping, or rifling. This map is excellent in Domination, and I even found a jump where the A position is, I’ll post a screenshot later.
The Maps-10/10:The maps are great, haven’t got anything bad to say about them. Also Makin rhymes with Bacon, I like that.

The Graphics
The graphics are much more colorful and a lot less gray, which is funny because Treyarch was formerly Gray Matter Interactive. The water in Makin, and the flowers in Castle, and even the explosions look great. Yes Link, even on my shitty computer.
The Graphics-8/10:Not perfect, but mostly, an improvement to CoD4.

The Sound
The sound, IS SHIT. The sound in this game is so bad, I’d rather hear Link singing, the guns and explosions are so quiet, big disappointment. Apparently this is because of “Sound Occlusion” or what I like to call it “Make the game sound like shitâ„¢”, Jock Yitch at Bashandslash.com posted an article explaining how to turn this shit off and make the game sound half decent, I’ve yet to try this, but I will be once I finish witting this.

Code:
/snd_losOcclusion “0″
/snd_global_attenuation “0″

That my friends is the code, to fix the game.
The Sound-0.9/10:It sucks camel testicles.

The Menu System
It is simple and easy to understand, the stats at the end of the game were great, I loved the “Nemesis” thing like in TF2 but besides that it is basically the CoD4 menus.
The Menu System-9/10:CoD4 menus with some new features.

The Friend System
For the most part I like the idea of the friend system, invite friends to your game while your playing!, it sounds good, but I’m not sure if I like the idea of bringing Xbox Live to the PC, but for now, I like it.
The Friend System-10/10:Innovative idea, something new.

The New Killcams
I love the new killcams, very creative, third person view of what happened, when someone throws a grenade, you see what they saw up until they let go of it, then the camera follows the grenade. When someone shoots a rocket at you, you see what they saw until they shoot, then it follows the rocket :D. The artillery strike one is cool also, I’ll get some videos up of the killcams asap.
The New Killcams-10/10:Loved em.

Overall Impression of the beta-7/10:The game is fun, back to WW2!, but the sound and the getting the game to work problems really bring this game down.
